Our story
Founded by our CEO Daniel Stevens, Seitec was borne of the idea that new and improved technology was required to provide accurate data to detect, identify and locate unexploded ordnance impacts on weapons ranges.
In 2019, near the end of his 20-year Air Force career, Daniel was involved in the operations of Air Weapons Ranges. He harnessed his keen interest in electronics engineering and background in fast jet maintenance to invent the concept of UXOTrackS. The concept used unique information about seismic waves to detect and localise the impact locations of unexploded bombs. With the support of Jericho – the innovation branch of Air Force – Daniel went on to prove the concept in 2020.
In 2021, Air Force took the initiative, with the aid of the Defence Science and Technology Group, to support Daniel in separating from Defence in order to develop and commercialise the technology.
Seitec was founded in late 2021 and its first small injection of capital came in December of that year with a larger seed investment raised mid-2022. This enabled the hiring of our CTO, Bevan Fairleigh, the first full time employee and founding member of the company. In September 2023, Seitec won its first contract to the value of $4.2M to develop UXOTrackS. The company rapidly expanded to eight employees which formed the core expert team that would drive both technologies to market entry.
The team now includes technical expertise covering specialities across software and hardware engineering, AI development, physics and mathematics, RF design and digital signal processing.
Seitec is rapidly converting leading edge research into groundbreaking technologies, creating completely new capabilities, and reshaping the military and security landscape.
